Things to Do In and Around Los Alamitos

Maintaining its small-town charm, the residents of Los Alamitos celebrate an array of carnivals, parades, festivals, and more.

Favorite special events include Race on the Base that features a glow in the dark doughnut run, a 10K run, a Reverse Triathlon, and more.

The Los Alamitos Spring Carnival features seasonal festivities like an egg hunt, a visit from the Easter Bunny, family-style games, arts and crafts, and more.

The community also sponsors a weekend of art, 4th of July fireworks spectacular, movies and music event series, Halloween traditions, Winter Wonder at the Plaza, a holiday decorating contest, and a good old-fashioned sing along fueled by hot chocolate, apple cider, and sweet treats.

There’s also an event called Wings, Wheels, and Rotors that features airplanes, helicopters, and a collection of classic cars.

The St. Isidore Historical Plaza, which, architecturally, strongly resembles a Catholic church, is the area’s community center, serving as the home of many community services. St. Isidore Historical Plaza is considered the historical heart of the city.
